The dry skin is either oil or moisture-dry.The skin-care regime should emphasize the moisturizing and nourishing routines. The dry’sensitive skin should be cleansed with a cold cream and alcohol-free skin fresheners to remove the cream.

After cleansing, the skin needs a lubricating emollient or a moisturizer. For best results, the moisturizer should be used while the face is damp after the wash.

Homemade Recipes for Dry Skin

Dry Skin Cleanser

Warmed milk cures roughened skin. It can be added to oat meal, or almonds

Try this milk lotion. Warm a cup of milk and add 1 tsp. glycerine, 1/4 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda and 1/4 teaspoon borax till all three dissolve.

Melt together in a bowl, 12 tablespoons white vaseline (petroleum jelly), 4 tablespoons baby oil and 1 tablespoon bees wax. When heated, remove from fire. Add a few drops of rose essence and store in a jar and use to clean face. Remove the cleanser with a damp cotton.

Skin Care Moisturiser

Mix 3/4 cup of rose water, 1/4 cup of glycerine, 1 teaspoon. of vinegar and 1/4 teaspoon of honey and keep it in a bottle. Use it regularly after cleansing.

Skin Nourising Mask

Mash a banana and beat in a teaspoon of salad or vegetable oil. Brush it on to the face and leave it on for twenty minutes till it dries. Then rinse it off. This nourishing mask should be used once a week atleast.

  •  Do not use an astringent or a toner containing alcochol.
  •  Avoid the sun and harsh winds and hot baths.
  •  Use oil-based creams and make-up products only.
  •  Do not use medicated soap. Use creamy and soft beauty soaps.
